It has definitely been awhile since I began this blog. As I look back on the last month I have been overwhelmed with the information I have received from General Authorities and the scriptures on eternal families. Right now my mind has been absorbed in the eternal nature of God. We have had a lot of lessons and readings on this and it has opened my mind more and more as to who our Father is and how powerful and omnipotent He really is. Also that He was once as we are now. He went through the same mortal experience and faced the same choices we do.
The other thing is that the purpose of everything is the formation of eternal families. Without the sealing power of the priesthood to create families there is no reason for the creation, for Adam and Eve. For anything. The whole plan is that we can return to our Heavenly Father as Eternal Families!!! Wow!
It changes how I look at the ordinances being done in the temple. Since I get to be a participate in some of these ordinances it becomes so clear how important it is that we do this work for our dead.
I also look forward to the millennium and being able to do the Lord's work unimpeded by Satan.
I have a new hope and will strive to find my ancestors so that I can do their work.

The purpose of this blog is to share my insights and what I learn about creating an eternal family. In that context I think I need to explain the title of my blog. Chocolate eclairs and car trips are two of my favorite memories of growing up in my family.
My mom made the most delicious eclairs. The shell was just right and the filling was to die for. I have yet to find any bakery that makes them that good. I now have her recipe, but did not inherit her touch. On Easter morning we would drive to the Shenandoah Valley to watch the sun come up and eat chocolate eclairs.
A lot of my memories include traveling. We lived on the East Coast and 90% of our extended family lived in Utah. It my mind it seems that every year we loaded up the VW bus and off we went.
I hope that as I will grow and expand my understanding of family I will be able to share my thoughts and feelings with you.
